Bichas Urbanas (Urban Femmes) is the second installment of the Desabafo Diaspórico (Diasporic Ki) photo series. As Black femmes who live predominantly (sub)urban lives, this photo essay provides a slice-of-life perspective of our convivência over three months. Bichas Urbanas serves as a quotidian intervention amid the fast-paced, normative flows of capital in “gay mecca,” disruptions that we often felt in the body language of those around us.
